Sustainability With Gold Standard

With 78 out of 100 points, OECHSLER achieved Gold status in the independent EcoVadis sustainability ranking. This places the company among the top 5% of all participants, narrowly missing Platinum status. The award underscores OECHSLER’s commitment to continuous improvement and transparent adherence to the principles of responsible business conduct – across all industries in which we operate, including the healthcare sector.

The rating evaluates activities in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. OECHSLER uses EcoVadis to make its commitment transparently measurable. Sustainability has been a key element of the company’s strategy for many years, as reflected in its certifications according to ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 50001 (energy management).

As part of the globally operating OECHSLER Group, OECHSLERhealth has committed to scientifically reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. The SBTi – supported by CDP, UN Global Compact, World Resources Institute, and WWF – helps companies significantly cut their carbon footprint and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

OECHSLER is committed to substantially reducing its emissions along the entire value chain:

  • Scope 1 and 2 (direct emissions): Reduction by 58.8% by 2034
  • Scope 3 (indirect emissions in upstream and downstream processes): Reduction by 63.8% per ton of product produced

“The outstanding EcoVadis result makes us very proud. It demonstrates that sustainable business practices and competitiveness go hand in hand. At the same time, committing to the SBTi targets is a logical step to consistently continue our chosen path,” explains Karl Ostler, CEO of the OECHSLER Group.

Investments For a Climate-Friendly Future

In recent years, OECHSLER has made significant investments in sustainability:

  • Solar power plants: Since 2023, a PV system at the Weißenburg site has been generating around 2,000 megawatt hours per year – equivalent to the electricity needs of 640 two-person households. Additional plants are in operation in Mexico, Romania, and China.
  • Energy-efficient production: The use of fully electric injection molding machines reduces energy consumption by about 30% compared to hydraulic machines.
  • Green electricity worldwide: Since 2025, OECHSLER has been sourcing 100% renewable energy at all global sites. In Germany, the company has also switched to a dynamic industrial electricity concept, with the majority of power supplied through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) from wind energy.
